    Registered Nurse

I’m Melissa! I'm a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, injecting since 2010. I’m also a recovering beauty product junkie and melanoma survivor who loves the skin I’m in. I want you to love the skin you’re in too! It’s never too late to start looking and feeling better. My Experience I was fortunate enough to join a plastic surgery team early in my career, and even though I went on to work in all surgical specialties, I've always had a soft spot for plastic and reconstructive surgery. I loved how it dealt with the entire body. A typical day included a facelift, a cancer mastectomy followed by immediate breast reconstruction, creating an ear out of a rib for a child's missing ear — or — in one case (the longest case I ever scrubbed, at 19 hours), a gunshot wound to the face! For years, I was exposed to the use of lasers and botulinum toxin for medical use (aka: Botox, Dysport.) My Now Over the years I sought out continued training in aesthetic medicine, as it's a relatively new and dynamic specialty. I practice in the San Francisco East Bay California Area of Walnut Creek (Lafayette, Concord, Pleasant Hill, etc) as well as the Central Coast Region of North San Luis Obispo County (Templeton, Paso Robles, and surrounding area.) Coming from a medical background, I tend to have a conservative approach. For example, if a patient has never tried botulinum toxin, what I call “wrinkle relaxer” (aka: Dysport or Botox), I'm likely to recommend trying one area—often the “11’s” or “frown line” before treating the entire face. The good news about wrinkle relaxer is that it is temporary. The bad news about wrinkle relaxer is that it is temporary. If you're not a fan of the results, it will wear off and during that time you are slowing down the appearance of aging. If you do like the results, then you must repeat the treatment to get the continued effects.
